JOB DESCRIPTION FOR
JERSEY SHORE PARTNERSHIP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Executive Director. — The Executive Director position is a paid part-time staff position. He/she shall be appointed by The Jersey Shore Partnership Board of Directors. The Executive Director is the operational and administrative manager of the organization, working under the direction of the Chairman, the President, and the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations of the organization, including staffing, finances, program and meeting scheduling and preparation, and all duties as assigned by the Chairman or President and/or mentioned in these bylaws including strategic planning, board recruitment, and bi-annual elections. All administrative communication to the organization from the membership of the Board of Directors should be directed through the Executive Director, unless otherwise noted.
The Executive Director is also President of the Jersey Shore Partnership Foundation, the fundraising and educational outreach for the Jersey Shore Partnership. The Executive Director shall support the Board of Directors’ efforts in development and fundraising activities including membership in the Partnership and sponsorships for the organization’s events, including The Jersey Shore Partnership Foundation’s annual Summer Celebration.
In the Partnership’s advocacy role, the Executive Director shall focus on ensuring that there is stable funding on the state and federal levels for coastal protection. The Executive Director shall build relationships with elected officials on the local, state and federal levels; attend conferences as they relate to the preservation and protection of the Jersey coast and its economy; participate in press conferences; and sponsor educational conferences in partnership with other organizations.
He/she shall have and perform such other responsibilities and duties as may be required or assigned to him/her from time to time by the Board of Directors or Executive Committee.
