New Jersey will commit $8.5 million from the Shore Protection Fund to create a continuous seawall in Sea Bright that will repair the damaged sections of the current sea wall and expand it to fortify the downtown area. Mayor Long had appealed for this funding in the aftermath of Sandy. Construction is slated to being next spring or early next summer. The borough also is planting dunes to create a buffer against rising tides.
